It's Thursday...

I've officially decided to dedicate Thursdays to lingerie and sexy stuff. It was hard to limit myself to just one day since my favorite store in THE ENTIRE WORLD is Victoria's Secret. Luckily there isn't one in my town of which my wallet is eternally grateful.

Of course, someday I will move so...

I am a big fan of this Gorgeous Blue Bra. It fairytale-esque designs and bright blue color is only surpassed by the fact that it is sparkly. I am positive that this shade of blue will look gorgeous with any color of hair, but the blonde in particular really shines.

I'm not a big corset fan. They are time consuming to get both on and off and seem to cover a lot more than necessary. But this Corset is just so dainty and sweet, and the shape looks both comfy and flattering. So maybe this could be an exception.

The model in this picture makes me a little uncomfortable...but I still adore this bright purple teddy. At first I wasn't a fan of the bow, but it's definitely growing on me. The lace and the color, though, are just so deliciously irresistible.

This may be my favorite piece of all. It is somehow both innocent and sexy at the same time. I love the conservative neckline paired with the sheer material in this Eyelet Embroidered Babydoll. The pattern, too, seems to wink at us, feigning innocence and tradition. It's simple, sweet, and naughty all at once.

Despite my personal habit to forgo heels unless they are absolutely inescapable, I think that these are the heels that could break me of my love of comfort. They are almost too delicate and perfect for going outside in...am I crazy for thinking of pairing them with lingerie for a sexy finish?

I Do Long to Be Beside the Seaside

Summer always brings in me a deep desire to spend these long hot days somewhere along the California coast. I'm not picky, anywhere from Carlsbad to Santa Monica to Eureka will do, as long as I'm near the water.

I'm not sure where this picture is from, it may not be California, but my love of water will take me to any little fisherman village. I love the tiny buildings on the dock. It makes me wish I could call this town home.

I'm a mountain girl, born and raised, so anything nautical or even vaguely beachy gets me looks of pity and raised eyebrows at the timberline.

So it appears my only course of action is to get myself to California, or scope out fun beachwear to fuel my day dreams.

Pinterest is my usual hunting ground. Unfortunately some (most?) pins don't actually link back to anything. But oh what I wouldn't give to know where this fabulous shirt is from.

I can just imagine myself running through the sand and splashing about in the water as my shirt camouflages with the ocean. And since I'm not in the mountains camouflage would be safe. I mean, it's not like someone is going to accidentally fish me...right?

And before a long day of playing in the California sun, what could be better than an early morning walk in the cool ocean air in my comfy blue button down. I love the little beachy restaurants in California, and I always try to pretend I'm local.

Which never works since I am entirely too obsessed with any and everything ocean related. This truly lovely ombre dress seems to mimic the flow of the sea while still being a perfect light weight, breezy ensemble for a hot day. I love those heels too, green and blue are always a winning combination in my book.

Green on its own is not my favorite color, though. As a kid I always felt pressure for it to be, since green was pretty much the "cool" color. It wasn't too mainstream like blue or too aggressive like red. It wasn't too loopy like yellow or girly like pink. It was gender neutral and simultaneously the color of nature and the color of money. Whatever,  calm down green. No one likes a show off.

My weird childhood issues with green aside, I do love this fun and beachy bracelet. I'm a sucker for those multiple bands. I can just imagine it with a cute two-piece or some worn out sandals and a little sundress. And while wearing the word love on jewelry may be considered overdone and trite, who couldn't do with a little reminder?

And speaking of jewelry, I found these incredibly gorgeous anchor earrings on pinterest. I would literally pair these little beauties with ANYTHING. They are the deadly combination of sparkly, nautical, and floral. Unfortunately I'm having trouble locating them...outside of pinterest. I'll keep working on it.

And after playing in the sun all day, the perfect evening commodity is this comfy striped sweater. Wonderfully loose and promising cool air cuddles and sunset walks along the beach.

Let's Boot and Rally

I LOVE TRUE BLOOD.

I started watching it last summer and since then have been completely obsessed. I have two True Blood posters and even a Merlotte's shirt (Sam's not Sookie's). As if that isn't enough I've started planning to buy a little girl pug and name her Sookie. Not because Anna Paquin looks like a pug, she is absolutely gorgeous, but because Sookie is a really adorable name...I'm looking forward to doing some intense Bill voice impressions at the park. Sookay!

Apart from the ridiculous plot lines and generous smatterings of male nudity, my favorite thing about True Blood is the music. It almost makes it okay that the episode has ended. This recent addition to the soundtrack by Iggy Pop and Bethany Cosentino has had me playing it on constant repeat (sorry neighbors).

RIGHT?! Makes me want to dance!

This is probably my third favorite True Blood song (that I can think of right now).

Here's my second and first, in that order.

And my number one:

It's from one of my favorite episodes in season 4. Neko Case is fantastic, what a gorgeous sound.

The Smell of Summer

Sometimes on my way home from the grocery store, if I spent less than I thought I would, I'll pop into Bath and Body Works. The welcoming and weirdly knowledgable staff along with the shelves of samples and delicious scents makes B&BW one of my favorite stores.

Earlier this summer I went in and, while browsing, found the scent.

Country Chic is a heavenly body spray with top notes of sparkling lemon, grapefruit, pear, crushed leaves, and marigold. It's mid notes are just as delectable: raspberry, jasmine petals, day lily, gardenia, and orange blossom.

I personally don't smell the dry notes (peach nectar, vanilla orchid, a hint of Praline & Patchouli, Cedar Wood, Amber Wood, Skin Musk) but I'm sure they add the perfect backdrop to my beloved sparkling lemon and gardenia.

Last Saturday on my grocery trip I stopped in and picked up the Country Chic Shimmer Body Mist. Since then I've been using it almost everyday, which is highly inappropriate since I'm currently taking Finite Math and Child Maltreatment classes.

For a less "Look at me I sparkle and shine!" option, I also picked out the Triple Moisture Body Cream and, since at that point I had earned myself a third and free (WHOO!) product,  the Creamy Body Wash.

Now all I have left on my wish list is this yummy looking Country Chic Body Scrub.

Yum!

Believe it or not this isn't the only scent I wear. It is certainly my primary scent. But I always like to keep two others on my dresser in case a romantic evening or sweet and flirty social event warrants a switch up. Since I can't actually spend every dime I make on haul from Bath and Body Works, I usually like to buy my alternate scents in travel sizes. This makes helps with the price and, honestly, I don't use these scents enough to justify anything more.

My favorite sultry scent, at the moment, is Secret Wonderland. A friend gave me some of her Secret Wonderland Lotion one time (travel sized--great minds think alike), and I hunted it down this summer. It's ingredients of note are strawberry, raspberries, jasmine, and vanilla.

The perfume is much too big an indulgence for me at the moment, but I can't help loving the gorgeous, magical looking bottle.

See what I mean? If I was a sea monkey I would absolutely want to be living in that bottle. Although maybe I'm taking the name Secret Wonderland a bit too literally.

I've Got The Hots...For Dots

I believe that when it comes to dots there is only one rule: don't be a dumbass. Any drunk freshman can look at a dotted pantsuit and say "No. That's not right."

This gorgeous little dotted frock, however, is all kinds of right.

The sleeves, the frilly beige slip and ruffles, the flow of the material: this is the polkadot dress of my dreams.

Polkadots aren't just for chiffon, though. Well...not just for chiffon dresses.

These shoes had me at bright purplish blue polkadots. I love the gathered pattern of fabric and the modern peep toe. And is it just me or does that sneaky red heel promise a hidden seductress?

And even though it isn't Thursday (the day I have sectioned off for lingerie and sexy wear) I couldn't resist adding this sweet little polkadot number to today's post.

I adore this style of bra. It's so simple and sweet, with the dots adding just the right amount of innocent flavor.

I Would Say I Love Pinterest...

...but I'm currently reevaluating my use of the word love.

I deeply and eternally adore this Red Round Neck Bow Decor Sexy Party Dress. (better?)

The Red Round Neck Bow Decor Sexy Party Dress or, RRNBDSPD as I like to call it, has the soft flowy quality of soft summer fashion while still mixing in a little bit of the well loved LBD.

I'm not sure I would wear it in a desert of dunes, though, next to a bunch of...poster board on three prong holders? That cant be right.

Let's move away from the sultry red and LBD undertones to a more summery must have. I say must have but what I really mean is "must stare at for hours on pinterest".

This 'Simple Minds' blue floral shoe is everything I could possibly want from a shoe. I adore the criss crossing straps, the gorgeous blue and old fashiony roses. The only thing I probably cant handle is the heel. Which is a shame, since I am roughly the height of a hobbit.

And speaking of floral, I love--sorry--want to make a lifelong commitment to these these gorgeous floral shorts from Free People.

I know women's pants/shorts get a lot of flack for stuff like the shredded hems of these shorts but think it adds a fun, carefree feel to a summer commodity. And the colors are really perfect; a delicate mix of washed out white, blue, and purple mixed with a playful, sharp orange. Gotta love summer.

Not Much Yelling Yet

hi.

That greeting was just typed by my blogging buddy and couch co-pilot, Jackie D. We've started blogs because Jackie makes things and I watch. I watch actively though, so I need a whole blog to talk about it. About my active watching.

Jackie is currently behind me in the blog making process. She still cant choose a title. Every time she picks a title, it turns out she spelled it wrong.

However she did just point out that she is far ahead in the applesauce game. Coincidentally "The Applesauce Game..." is what Jackie just chose as her blog title.

Blogging is actually quite stressful. It probably shouldn't be since I'm choosing to do this; but there is something so nerve wracking, deciding that I have something important enough to say that I should actually record it on the internet and make other people read it.

Well I'm not making anyone read this, I guess. If you feel like I am...don't. I release you. Begone.
